Brilliant. It's closing these small loop holes that will make the difference to our society.

What loophole?

Why is there no VAT on uni tuition fees? Why do no other countries in the EU charge VAT on private schooling?

Not charging tax is not a loophole FFS.

Didn't greece also try taxing schools? Surely that worked out for them right?

That's simply a nonsense figure. For a start £1.7bn is assuming that private schools simply continue as they are but taxed. But they won't. If they are taxed many will be forced to close. And a great deal more will be forced to simply scale back. So that taxable amount will inevitably massively drop.

Oh no, less private schools and more children of rich people going to state schools. Oh the horror, having to share a school with all those commoners!

It's baffling people make these comments. You're just admitting your policy is out of spite and envy.

My fav part is this will backfire as hard as force integration did.

!leafs !chuds I saw in real time people understand why people are racist after having to share a class room with some fresh off the boat africans

Frankly private schools should be scrapped. Finland has it right in this area imo. Make the toffs and rich kids go to a state school, they want to donate to education they can do it nationwide.

There's no point to these institutions other than to give the old boys a place to network before working age.

I'd be for this. Ban private education and private medical treatments for everyone in the UK.

If the rich want a better service they can donate, campaign, and lobby for it. If not then you're stuck using the same as the rest of the country.

!anticommunists More proof that commies want everyone to be as poor and uneducated as they are

What kind of govcuck logic is this?

>if you want to build or create something better, then don't do that!

>you have to lobby, bribe, and campaign for it

>beg and scream for government to make it and supply the right amount!

>because because you just have tooooo!

/u/CassetteLine is probably the biggest r-slur of that sub. Imagine an entire country of such helpless, useless people. Pathetic.

I love that their solution is never to improve the public services so everyone including the wealthy might want to use them, it's to ban the superior private options so everyone is forced down into the shit with them.

The richer you are, the more you will be shielded from it anyways. The people most affected are families who have been making big sacrifices to send their children to private school, and poorer smart children who receive scholarships.

I think the logic is if the rich have to take it also they are also incentivized to improve it also.

The problem is that bad schools are bad because poor kids are there. Imagine if you had to work at a job where screaming r-slurred convicts can attack you at any point in the day and you'll get in trouble for it. Not only that you're not able to progress in any of your tasks until someone slowly explains each task to them.

the schools will close down if they have to pay taxes

Or they can just raise tuition to the breakeven amount and call it a day
