I'm feeling extra dumb because I actually know a bit about breast pathology (due to circumstances). In order to prove myself smart on this cat-themed gay dating site, I decided to read the case report and review it. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I have read a fair amount of related journal articles.
The case report really sucks. There is nothing novel about the presentation, diagnosis, or treatment. It's a pure freak show report, "Hey this patient has a super rare issue and she thinks the vaccine caused it." It's not even clear why they went with surgery. In accordance with rdrama values, I'm claiming the authors bullied the patient into it because they wanted an easy publication and they hate big titties.
A week after the vax, the patient's breasts got tingly and started growing. Got worse after second vax and she hit GGG in six months. Regular examination found the breasts "edematous," meaning swollen with fluid, but probably not severely as it's mentioned offhand. No lumps or swollen lymph nodes or such.
Scans show mild swelling in the armpit lymph nodes, and some tissue that was denser than expected. The report says "biopsies suggested fibroepithelial lesions, such as fibroadenoma, hamartoma, and PASH." It is really weird to lump the last two under FE lesions. So far the tests come across as really wishy-washy.
Anyways, they throw antibiotics and steroids into her. The growth stops, but "symptoms persisted" so they decide to chop her up. They do not say which symptoms. I want to stress how flimsy the case report is. Surgery is dangerous. There could be very good reasons for it but the authors didn't bother to mention them.
Since they will remove a lot of mass, the plan is to remove a bunch of skin above the areola and slide them up higher. Surgery goes badly, but not catastrophically. There's way too much bleeding, so they had to stop early. This is probably the cause of the breasts being uneven and the excess scarring. They took 3.7 pounds from one breast, and 4.2 from the other.
So the patient now has uneven scarred-up DDs. But the authors got to put their name on an article about how vaccines cause giant teenage tits! Yay!

Totally agreed, I also know about breast pathology, as breast cancer research is my career.
Really seems like a case of "we have no idea why this happened, so we panicked and did surgery to immediately address the most obvious symptom (huge naturals)." She's still a teenager when this happened so this could easily have been developmental hormone frickery and have nothing to do with the jab.
Also, want to point out that the title itself is a red flag -- who uses the term "boob job" in their case report title?

Oh good, an expert. Is describing the patient by cup sizes normal? It seems weird, but maybe it's an easy metric.
This article is so fricking weird. Like it was an easy publish, apparently only 20 recorded cases of PASH gigantomastia before. But they go for the slimey clickbait angle, they make themselves seem incompetent doctors in the report, and they completely half butt the report itself.
Vague diagnosis and treatment sections. The surgical section starts promising but has no follow through. Why did the increased vascularity catch them by surprise? They knew there were hamartoma and extra lobular tissue. Was it way more than expected? Any thoughts for the next surgeon who has to deal with this?
Follow up sucks. Nothing about whether the areola discoloration is from the bleeding, or the rushed ending, or another mistake, or the infection. They talk about a future surgery, wonder if they'll be surprised by the bleeding again.
But what really pisses me off is the histology. Does it match up with the vaguely described scans and biopsies? Any evidence of the mystery infection? How much extra lobular tissue was there, because that is kinda fricking important.
Oh, but they manage to find the time to finger-wag about listening to patients. The University of Toronto is top notch, the journal is apparently good, and there was no rush to publish. This feels like an undergrad procrastinated and then wrote it all in one night.

As far as I'm aware, the most recent development in natural breast augmentation is a biodegradable lattice that assists fat tissue with naturally building around it. Its primarily used for breast reconstruction of recovering mastectomy patients, however, its also been explored as an alternative to fat-grafting and traditional implants for augmentation surgeries.
