Yes. Wingcuckery or actual policy positions don't matter much in the internet age. What matters is showmanship, charisma. Every other Republican in the last primary was a boring normal politician with no rizz. IE DeSantis being a favorite but then his hype faded because he has no rizz.

I never understood why this mattered tbh. I grew up in a turbo Christian environment and while presidents always said they were some variation of Christian no one I know actually believed them. But maybe you are right.

I get the point he was making. Under a different context it could have worked. But it really looked like he was kind of saying American culture is inferior to Indian culture and Indians are better than Americans as a result. I honestly think Elon and Vivek could have won the H1B debate if they said it should be changed from lotto to merit based and focused on the brain drain aspect. Not the finding qualified workers aspect.
