cheese and peanut butter have high calorie density but also high satiety
you will feel fuller longer on 500 calories of that stuff than 500 calories of bread or skittles
people worry about calorie density when they should be worrying about where those calories come from

Fruits, vegetables, dairy, eggs, some meat. Avoid oils as best as you can. Kept people skinny all those previous centuries. Just copy the old people's heavy eating.
They don't want you to know but technically ultraprocessed foods aren't going to automatically make you fatter but they exist to maximize sales which means created in a lab to maximize your desire to eat more of it without it being declared an addictive illegal substance.

If you take eggs and whip them, cook up some ground turkey, cook bacon and crumble it, chop up some mushrooms, and add heavy dairy cream, add salt for taste, then mix it all together and bake it, this meets the definition of being an ultra-processed food as much as a Snickers bar. It's the same whether you cook them yourself or buy them pre-made.
The chemical that makes you feel like you want more of it is the sugar. Your insulin levels spike and you get hungry faster than if you had eaten something with a 50-50 mass ratio of proteins and fats. You'll stay fuller longer if you eat 500cal of fat and protein than if you eat 500cal of M&Ms.
Oils aren't bad on their own, you just have to make sure you include them in your calorie counting of you're conscious that way. Most people just use them for cooking anyway. Where they fail is deep frying potatoes because you're loading up on the carbs again.
Bodybuilders have two diets, one for bulking which is a lot of carbs, and one for cutting which has no carbs. They've been doing this forever and hollywood turns it into fad diets which makes people skeptical of it.

I bet it is more than just sugar though but we will only know once we watch a 1,000 sugar resistant people eat over a long enough time span and record the results.
Oils are pretty bad if they aren't the healthy brands. Oil calories are also not easy to count up and can sneak on you without issue.
Bodybuilders aren't the best people to learn diets from in my opinion because for 90% of humans they need the best diet plan that they can have the same format every single day of their lives.

Sugar resistant people are what we call dead bodies because they can't produce ATP for their muscles to function.
But we do know what we call insulant-resistant people -- Type II beetus
Bodybuilders are great because they show what happens when you effortmaxx at a competition level so they can achieve that extra 0.1% edge to win.
Implementing the same thing at the normie level -- eat the same caloric distribution and hit the gym a 5 times a week -- won't win you competitions but it will set you on the right track. Humans aren't supposed to eat cake and cookies.
