There’s a section of boxing media that continuously embarrasses themselves.

Tf is the deal with boxing? I never hear anybody talk about it, then all of a sudden the BIG UPCOMING MATCH between Mayweather vs Paquito is a BIG DARN DEAL and all anybody can talk about for a solid year

You gotta remember that boxing used to be a way more mainstream sport, so it still lives in the background of American consciousness, just havnt had the kind of breakout stars it used to, and the ones they do have never fricking fight each other when the fans want them to.
In short, dudes like Floyd did well for themselves but sucked competitive credibility out of the sport to the point where a YouTube can come in and be a better attraction than 90% of them cus his fights are fricking interesting
