Even though my first two choices were really stupid I could have gotten it on the third try if I guessed point instead of the much less obvious glint (which I felt really smart for guessing). Oh well

if you go into the settings on the top right of the wordle website you can turn on hard mode. It just means that once you get a letter it forces you to use it in your next guesses, so you can't use the
@drama_enthusiast method of guessing a bunch of different words with unique letters and narrowing it down from there.
