As an early fan of the franchise I really didn't like this "trilogy". Goomers deserve everything they get.

I love the trilogy, even the third one which is iffy is still fun, but I realized its never going to improve because the fanbase is full of maniacs and so I decided to cut all ties. One side is full of defensive consoomers who will only criticize the devs if they can pin the bad decisions on an evil capitalistic boogeyman and will ban you for criticizing the fanbase offsite then make up a different reason for doing so. Like somehow the game not getting patches is because the higher ups said so, and not just the devs being incompetent. The second side is contrarian speedrunners who think they can make a better game because they spend 400 hours playing the same level and think the reason why they hate the game now is because of poor design and not because theyve nullified their dopamine receptors. Theyโ€™ll complain about the tiniest things but still buy it full price anyway. So you have both sides who dont offer real criticism to the devs and then when they do it can easily be ignored because a) why listen to maniacs, and b) theyre gonna buy it anyway. Im the only one advocating and following thru on a very, very soft boycott

The thing with Hitman is the fanbase, unlike Sonic and Undertale, isnt filled with children and yet somehow has a bigger ratio of maniacs than those two. At least Sonic has talented people who made the fan games and such. Literally zero proper Hitman fan games or spiritual successors exist that could provide competition because the fanbase is full of neurodivergent, talentless losers

I only played the first one, but I didn't like that there wasn't a real story, and the whole thing was boring as heck. Absolution was too story-driven, but this one is just "assassin simulator 2021"

The second and third games get criticized for the story bleeding into the levels

Really? That's stupid. It was the #1 reason people disliked Absolution. The first two games are also heavily story-driven.

Yeah the second game has a level where you collect clues to the location of the final level and then the third game has a level where the ICA hunts you down for going against the bad guys, the a level where you infiltrate their data facility to leak their files and then the finale is a train level where you have to make your way to the big bad at the end

Honestly this trilogy was great as a streamlined hitman game, although i lament the fact we'll never get a weird, broken, almost buggy blood money with a goofy ranking system again.

H3 also has the best levels/best looking levels. No i wont elaborate.
