Doesn’t this tax just make it so the only way to obtain a house in Boston is to inherit or rent it?

Because you get an exemption from this for familial transfers, and I assume landchads don’t pay extra taxes on rent.

Is she an r-slur or is this just a way to appeal to old money WASPs?
