Weekly Anime Megathread #26

So I finished watching Nyaruko-san again, and again I am salty that it didnt get a third season. But I also read that one of the voice actresses died, very sad. Wonder if that was the reason for the show not going on?

Thats pretty much all anime related from me. Im looking for something new to watch in thr romcom genre, so give me your suggestions please. Similar to eg the mentioned 'Haiyore! Nyaruko-san' or maybe 'Tsugumomo' or stuff like that.

This post is a bit early so I wont pin it yet, I just had to post it now to get suggestions.

Did you Watch the Flash animations made by the writer of Nyaruko? Haiyoru! Nayurani and Remember My Love(craft-sensei).

Nyaruko was one of those shows I spent a lot of time trying to find something that would give the same high. I tried all manner of wacky shows like Amagi Brilliant Park, C3, Is This a Zombie?, etc. I never manage to find it.

For Romcoms: Wotakoi is my favorite, its about Otaku who work in an office dating, Ano Natsu de Matteru its the unofficial spinoff/sequel to Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins, and Chuunibyou are all very solid.

I think I watched most of those lol. Nyaruko had the perfect mix of crazy humor and romance. Also very likeable characters, and the lack of a big overarching story is nice. Hard to find anything really similar to that.

Shows that reminded me of it a bit were eg tsugumomo and dropkick on my devil, off the top of my head. They are not exactly more of the same though, just somewhat kinda similar?

Its why I fell in love with it and why I spent a lot of time trying to find something like it. I've come to the conclusion you'll find something that for whatever reason hits right and you'll only find that same feeling in a handful of cases.

Anything Light Novel based will have a similar thing, the issue is avoiding ones that undo character development just so they can redo it.

dropkick on my devil,

I am going to start that this weekend.

Yeah, but I think nyaruko was kinda unique with how it handled 'villains' and how they were disposed off. I still find it funny that they had that one episode with her brother and then never brought him back.

From what I know from the LN any time he shows up, he gets dealt with without anyone knowing he was there.
