I mean, everything here seems pretty cut and dry. It's good that this man was not murdered in cold blood. But it should say something about the collective trauma experienced by people of color in this country that they would assume the worst, and it should not minimize the fact that these things do still happen to black people in America. Also it seems weird and to laugh and gloat at how regular people felt about the story as it was framed to them by the media and the dead man's family, who obviously will take no comfort from what they heard today
