Theory - Following links from here gets accounts banned

I had a really clean account jannied despite posting absolutely nothing of interest on it, it survived 2 weeks as I changed IP, cleaned cookies and only visited reddit on brave browser.

However I was banned within 24 hours after following a few links from here while logged into the account.

Can a few people confirm or test if they somehow do not have a history of being banned, simply get an account banned by following links and commenting/upboating innocent things.

If reddit is actually doing this it would be a hilarious chance to get people banned from linking to threads here first on twitter or whatever and saying follow the reddit link

Most websites have referrer links (I used to run a few websites and work at web companies,) but rDrama does not.

Websites had a "we're all friends" functionality in 2000 which was "referrer links", so you could see where web traffic came from--@aevann specifically designed this site not to provide them. Every link you click is like you texted your friend a URL, I believe.

Links to Twitter definitely have rdrama in the url as a referreral

Happy to be corrected by a more competent codecel, but is that because the tweets here are embedded?

I wouldn't put it past some really dedicated seething admins to track something like if an account views x number of pages that drama posted :marseypat:

That shouldn't be possible as rdrama doesn't give information to reddit, but there might be ways reddit is still getting the info. Not sure how.

I'm no web dev but I think sites can track where you are coming from even if you don't intentionally send any data - For example youtube analytics gives a massive list of everywhere your video was played/visited from

What's your browser like? Do you just let it run all trackers and load all cookies from any website like a tard?

Drama doesn't have Google cookies. If the content is embedded (YouTube and Twitter) it will be aware that it is being viewed on rDrama. For links, drama is set up such that the place you end up is not informed where you came from.
