Plan A was to land ~7000 VDV in the airport north of Kiev, after capturing it with attack helicopters/paratroopers, and then replace the Kiev regime in the first 3 hours - which failed because the runways were too damaged to land transport with armor

Plan B was to enrcircle Kiev by day 3, and then bombard it until they surrender - this one failed because the Russian logistics was horrible and their Kiev army never received the fuel they were supposed to on day 2.

Plan C has been to withdraw from the areas they're getting bussy blasted in and endlessly cope while they figure out how to get the other 200k troops they need to accomplish anything worthwhile in Ukraine

Why did they then attacked in multiple directions and their strongest force was in east Ukraine ? And adding 2 regions to your territory is not worthwhile ? Downgrading achievements is a cope

Why did they then attacked in multiple directions

They expected near 0 military resistance after paying off the Ukraine army and thought this was a riot policing vacation so they expected a light occupation across the whole country - but the ukrops stole their money and didn't do 90% of the subterfuge they promised. Somehow this was unexpected.

their strongest force was in east Ukraine ?

Their strongest forces were supposed to land in hostomel but less than 1/10th managed to do successfully; so they moved them East to try and create a narrative that makes their hilarious failures less embarrassing to international observers. They are strong in the east compared to near Kiev, but those are far from 'strong' Russian forces - they just have big numbers. The cannonfodder separatist are doing the same as they've been doing for the last decade but the Russian main forces are so horrible that it is making them look okay in comparison. The only 'elite' Russian forces that have been seen anywhere were all around Kiev.

And adding 2 regions to your territory is not worthwhile ?

Depends what you paid to get them. They could spin Donbas control into a domestic win but nobody outside of Russia or /pol/ is r-slurred enough to think the Donbas regions are worth 15% of Russian GDP.

I don't think it matters though since Russia has no chance of controlling the Donbas with an army this small & fractured lmao, they needed full mobilization 2 weeks ago if they still wanted to win this war. Now it's all just damage control.
