"The homeless" were someone's neighbors, sons, daughters. It's not like they've gone feral. Before anyone brings up drugs or mental illnesses, who knew that "living" in constant danger with massive stress on the streets would start a drug habit to cope, or would make an existing addiction or mental issue worse. Go figure.
If only they shared that empathy with the pedestrians "living" in constant danger
The way to keep everyone safe is to send a mental health professional not do nothing and hope for the best.
