everytime I receive my paycheck, I convert it to copper coins, around £800s worth, and throw them into the local nature reserve; I'm hoping to alter the chemistry of the water enough it effects the eco-system

£800

All jokes aside it’s actually much more efficient to use the money buy the big bags of salt used for water softeners and throw them into streams in the nature reserve. The salt enters the streams way faster than erosion of copper coins and makes the water way unhealthier for the animals to drink. The salt content in the water will also decimate any marine life if the stream feeds into a small pond or if you throw enough salt bags into the stream frequently enough to saturate a larger body of water.
