I've mentioned this before, but I was on the Jesse+Katie hype squad before you were:

https://old.reddit.com/r/Drama/comments/cettpa/technically_its_ephebophilia_a_based_centrist/

https://old.reddit.com/r/Drama/comments/9krd9c/when_you_realize_your_male_coworkers_will_go_to/?st=JMS5NSZM&sh=28a812d6

Katie declined an /r/drama mod position once: https://x.com/kittypurrzog/status/1047289617760714752 that she completely forgot about when she did the episode on /r/drama

I haven't talked about it in the more "mainstream" parts of the internet, but there's an episode where Jesse says that the Blocked and Reported stans need to be more unhinged, and Katie says "well, there was that one time that someone sent mail to our home addresses, which I thought was hilarious" and Jesse says "I wasn't going to mention that, because that might encourage the crazies out there."

I'm sorry to report that it wasn't just any mail. It was a 4 page single spaced musing on the definition of doxxing and a complaint about the lack of a consistent moral position for or against it in various circumstances. Pure autism, in other words.

ok explain twitter to me. you have hundreds of followers and then you write something and it gets 0 interaction and but you still keep tweeting nonetheless.

The main thing about Twitter is that you need an account if you want to respond to something someone else says, and that if you continuously interact with stuff the algorithm learns that you want those things. I've trained mine to give me two things: journos getting into drama, and neurodivergents navelgazing.

Writing stuff that gets 0 interaction is less central than training an algorithm. Also, it's easier to train the algorithm to bring Twitter drama than it is to cultivate a subreddit of likeminded individuals who trawl the entire internet and post it there, until you get banned by reddit and move off-site.

And, not only do I keep tweeting stuff that nobody reads, but I also have a bunch of longposts in text files on my computer that FOR SURE nobody will ever read, 2 blogs that nobody will ever read, a half-finished fantasy book that nobody will ever read, a reddit account pooping out posts nobody will ever read, etc etc.

Edit: pic related: today is apparently an neurodivergent navelgazing day, but one potential dramapost has slipped through the cracks. https://x.com/Evie_Magazine/status/1519706297670803460
