I could NFTmaxxx I'm thinking these people are too rslurred to know what NFTs are though. But I might try and make a website for merchandise and merchandisemaxxxx instead

That'd work, although I think some of the NFT platforms have credit card pay and frankly NFTs can be sold to them as some kind of magic thing. Even people who are into them often have no fricking idea what they are.

There's a handful of decent projects but it's pretty clear that we're in the pets.com stage of NFTs.

Eh, I was trying to independently invent them at a bank hackathon before they actually came out with the standard so we could put mortgages on them. There really is a bunch of good use cases for having a trustless ledger that can reflect ownership of nonfungible goods.

Na, we ended up getting kind of frustrated with the state of the tech and probably overly ambitious trying to find a way to secure enough data to not need outside storage. In hind sight we should have stuck to just representing the mortgage/liens as smart contracts(that would now be called NFTs) and called it a day. We definitely didn't succeed in making what are now referred to as NFTs. But in our defense it's hard to predict what will eventually seem like obvious designs. Lots of really smart people failed to make airplanes before the wright brothers got it right.
