Scroll down when they start saying that there's no way a Union would benefit from making it illegal to do the most minor electrical repairs.

What is a skookum and how does it relate to power outlets

Skookum is some word the native Americans used to mean 'big' or 'imposing' and now fans of a YouTuber called AvE use it. The sub basically showcases really big machines. Or like stuff that's really overbuilt.

I would have had to hire an electrician about 20 times in the last two years to make small changes that I’ve done myself for free.

Uh, I replaced a bunch of 30 year old outlets that were worn out and could no longer grip plugs, and I changed the switches over to push button style ones to better fit the era of my house (1910s)

Why would that mean 20 call outs just get it all done in a single go what the frick goddarn fricking poorcel r-slurs

I'm assuming there were other items not on that list, either way I'm not paying an electrician to come in and change an outlet for me.

Yeah, for simple things like changing an outlet or light fixture sure, have at it. It's more how shitty that reasoning is, like I get he may have done it in 20 jobs because he lives there, but if you were hiring a pro why wouldn't you get all the sockets and switches changed at once?

Because fricking poorcels are fricking r-slurred and lack the ability to plan ahead.

No I'm saying that the light switches and outlets are probably just part of the list of shit he's done. The '20 things yes done' ibclude change outlets, changing switches, and 18 other things.

What, does he live in some 3,500 square foot manor house (I'm assuming rural bongland from the context)? Like what 18 other things are going on that are safe enough for the average redditor to not burn their house down doing?
