To give a serious answer: furries are a weird assortment of misfits and neurodivvies that feel outcast from society and hence are willing to accept anyone into the fandom as long as it means they have more fuzzy internet friends to talk to, which makes it an appealing community for dogfrickers, s*x pests and other freakshows who aren't welcome anywhere else.
