I saw a homeless guy strung out with a new power tool in his hand (they retail for around $250). He was looking at it, looking at me, freaking out at crosswalk. Probably stole it out of someone's truck.

I just think of the sad desperation in front of all of us, everyday.

Our society could fix this - but it's corrupt.

This addict needs help getting a fix to avoid being dope sick.

Instead of offering him a way through a social service center, he's forced to commit a crime and hopefully he won't get a bad batch that will kill him.

We could solve this, but too much money being shelled out fight the problem, not fix the problem.

Something I love about redditors is they do the "somebody should DO something :marseypearlclutch:" schtick and then openly talk about how much they're not doing

"Nooo he actually has no agency in being a piece of shit. This is society fault."

This is the mindset of somebody who has never encountered poor people in their entire life.

Though there might be something to the implication that homeless people aren't sentient.
