even though wave and triste came out of it, wave is probably tom jobim's worst album, most of it is basically a backing track, listen to stoneflower and elis & tom instead. it doesn't have the definitive recordings of the standards i mentioned either

To each their own. I'm not one for Jobim's voice or jazz vocalists in general. And yeah, Wave doesn't take a lot of risks but that's sort of the appeal, it's easy-listening light bossa music and some of the best easy-listening light bossa ever recorded.
