Couple of stories:

First one is I was a young sailor with no exposure to blacks and this one gal I fancied took here weave out (didn't know it was a thing) and I told her, wow you got quite the haircut. She looked at me and said Hawkeye you're dumb as shit.

Another one is I was on a integrated male female ship for a while and we had a special event going on that required the ship to be at full dress, I was raising the American flag and a black female was bringing the ship to dress. Morning colors start at 0800 and I'm bringing up the ensign and she's pulling hard to bring the ship to dress.

A gust of wing comes and knocks the wig clean off her head and I darn near throw up in my mouth. Shit was gross.

I love the sistas but can't deal with their hair.

Ship at full dress means their flying this extras flags shown in the pic below.
