Religion came into being in every region on the planet because it's a product of the foibles in our brains.
The foibles don't go away because religion does, people just move to other things.
Same reason commies are often not religious - they get their compensatory control from government authority as opposed to divine purpose.
These same foibles are to blame for conspiracism, too. Mass shootings are the most obvious example of these foibles kicking into full gear.
And are also why the gun control issue will never really be addressed - you have 2 different ways of obtaining compensatory control in conflict.

yeah we had a meth addled crypto bro in one of the groomercords. He was living at his mom's house and bought bitcoin in 2017/2016. Sold everything to buy it and his btc value went up to $150k. He became a crypto trader and that's what he did all day -- posted gains only and how he was going to be a millionaire and did meth all day. He'd occasionally sell some to go on trips and convinced his dad to give his money to him to trade. The dude was insane and for some reason his main competitor was me idk why cuz I work and don't get into crypto.
For 4 years we listened to him tell us he was going to be a millionaire and all the people in groomercord were not as smart as he was. He claimed to have sold after the last crash, but 4 years later he still had nothing and lived with his parents and complained that his room smelled like piss.
