They do have geothermal on the big island but the power plant was shut down due to lava flows a few years ago. No idea if it’s reopened yet, there was plans to do so, but on other islands it’s not feasible since there is no volcanic activity there.
The move right now us moving towards solar with battery storage fir back up.
