The whole point of the Reddit hugbox is proving that the marginal and ephemeral are actually dominant and permanent.
If you think about it, Wall Street Bets really is just Reddit applied to finance. Brazenly incorrect information can still cause fantastic disruptions in society if you get enough people to believe it. It doesn't matter if they're wrong.
