I was a mod there a few years ago. Basically you use a 3rd party app called Toolbox. If a top-level comment is off topic or whatever, you can use a "nuke" feature to remove it and all responses.
50-500 removals at a time. Very easy to rack up the monthly "high score" and blend in. I think I came in 2nd place a few times out of their 1600 moderators.
It takes about 15 minutes.
