im not really surprised. my family was pissed when covid started that everyone assumed they had covid (but i think my grandparents were more pissed people thought they were chinese )

Pretty much nothing, in most cities where they had China towns most of the original inhabitants moved to nicer neighborhoods once they had enough money and formed communities there. At least in North America the immigrant demographics have also changed enough that the shitty Chinatown apartments aren't the only place you can live in when you get here.

in new york i know theyre mad new prisons are being built in the middle of commercial hubs. in other cities, most the time theres little police presence in chinatown leading to high crime.
basically they want to be able to go to the asian farmers market at 5pm without having to see a drug dealer down the street or the japanese restaurant have their windows smashed
