AMAB trans girl here. I’ve had plaque psoriasis for a long time, even before I started HRT. Feminizing hormone therapy involves taking estradiol (among other hormones), and I’m just a month off of a year of taking them.

I have noticed zero reduction in psoriasis intensity. It never goes away or ‘subsides’, and in fact it has been spreading further and further to different places on my body in what feels like an exponentially quick pace.

I’m certain I do not contain the same concentrations of estradiol as a cis woman, but it would be nice if I were to benefit from estradiol’s purported effects on psoriasis as well. I have to wonder if my concentration isn’t high enough to make a difference, or if the leftover testosterone that isn’t dealt with by my T-blockers has something to do with it.

I feel like hormonal science might be difficult to properly apply to trans people.

maybe estradiol doesn't have much of an effect on you sweaty

Maybe "we saw a decrease when we did X" doesn't mean it completely works with every person every time

I hate people that can't understand stats so fricking much
