Nah the Texas legislature is pretty fricking hilarious and has a personal issue with Austin. Every time the city tries to enact some anti 2a or pro homeless law, the legislature goes and directly outlaws whatever Austin tries to do.

Minnesota isn't highlighted on that map. Michigan had an abortion ban on the books before Roe v. Wade that was never repealed, so it goes into effect again. Also, the state legislature has been Republican for a long time.
