Lol. Just found out OP got blasted in another post about telling two 19 year old lesbians that their idea of moving to the The Netherlands and starting a fashion business is a super great idea. OP rage made that post from this argument:

If the burgers on that sub are skilled/wealthy enough to be allowed to immigrate to another first-world country at the drop of a hat, they'd most likely not encounter any trouble with whatever trendy doomsday scenario they've concocted for themselves. Abortion, racism, etc... It's not like wealthy suburban Republican women can't get abortions now if they want.

it's not about any given doomsday scenario, it's that the country's becoming an increasingly miserable place to live due to a multitude of factors and there's a zero percent chance that it's going to stabilize or improve in the near- to medium-term

t. leaving and know others who are leaving

Ok. I'm glad you've made your choice and can act upon it. But the hysterics from the Reddit crowd still seem bizarre and disconnected from reality to me as someone who was born in a far poorer country than the US.

So I do sincerely hope that you find a sense of belonging/happiness wherever you've chosen. But the "slots" from you and your friends are probably going to be taken up by people from my part of the world soon. Happy trades and all eh...

Oh, it's absolutely hysterics 99% of the time. It's pretty clear that most Americans across the political spectrum don't know shit about other countries and either unironically believe that the US is one of the worst places to live in the world or is the best place to live in the world. In reality it's very comfortable and will continue to be for some time, but the sharp downward trajectory and general cultural misery make getting out a no-brainer for me. fwiw, some of the people I know who are also moving for the same reasons were born and raised in shitholes. I guess if you have the ability to migrate to greener pastures, why not?

inshallah habibi
