Maybe you boiled it for too long? I usually dunk it in ice water after but I can't remember if it helps with peeling

dunk in ice water, leave to cool for a minute. under the faucet take a spoon, crack the end of the egg and make a small hole. Slide the spoon around the inside and dislocate the egg from the shell. Break out with the spoon from the inside and the shell should just fall away.

Explained it badly but just try it and you'll see what I mean. I'm able to get through hundreds with this method when I'm making deviled eggs.

edit: use the fat end of the egg and make a big enough hole to fit a spoon, not a small hole.

I never liked that technique. At least if you're going to suggest that tell them which end to pick. There's a difference.

you're right I edited the comment. Always make the hole at the bottom.

Maybe not the best technique for one or two eggs but I was forced to learn it. I cook most of the food at family and church events and that always entails ungodly amounts of eggs for deviled eggs and egg salad.

lmfao i didn't see this, other people gave him the ice bath info though πŸ™ peeled a bunch of very soft boiled eggs with that yesterday @NeolibShill just empty a ice cube tray into a bowl with enough water to cover and dunk them in right away (don't worry about rinsing them off), when the cubes are all melted you're gucci, half the time if i peel it under cold water after the shell just falls off

Just ask someone from your kitchen staff to do it.

i put my hard boiled eggs in a ziploc while they still kinda warmish n then in the fridge…the moisture in the baggie helps peel the egg iirc but like it actually works
