If the millionaire chemistry PhD lesbian with two patents who decided to coast in her old age and become a Top 10 Happiest Cities in Burgerland suburban high school chemistry teacher I had wasn't happy then no teacher is happy.

I was happy when teaching, but only on the days where I had either heroin or clonazepam for breakfast

It might be fun to larp there as someone who retired from teaching in 2005 and just spouts off hot takes

I've said this before, but teachers are r-slurred.

I suspected it when I was a child and confirmed it as an adult.

The worst of it is that they actually believe they deserve to be paid more.

Teachers are babysitters you don't actually trust but you dump your kid with them anyway just because you have to get to work

From elementary through high school I can think of maybe 3 or 4 teachers I had total that were actually at least half decent at it. The rest were just coasting until retirement or people who wanted to coach high school sports so became a history teacher.

I had three good ones:

1- My second grad teacher who couldn't have been a day over 22 and was super sweet, she loved kids and I had a little crush on her .

2- Junior High math teacher who managed to get me and a few other non-r-slur students actually interested in the subject.

3-Humanities teacher my Senior year who was very old and sweet, but was also incredibly smart and really knew how to teach the subject.

The rest of elementary was just a bunch of old pissed off crones, or younger women with personally defects. Most middle and high-school teachers kind of tried but most just went through the motions of teaching the book and let kids do what they wanted. A few had tenure and had completely checked out.

Me an my friends made one male teacher cry in middle school, which was hilarious. I made my middle school "technology" teacher cry too because I already knew how to type so would get supper bored...me and a friend found out how to look up porn in that class, lol. I also made one high school science teacher cry, she was new and I felt a little bad about that one. Several teachers who would not check homework, just do the first and last parts and then place filler in the middle.

There was also one art teacher that you could tell was stoned some of the time, she was alright.

Youtube has very seriously exposed how bad most teachers are, wait until more people realize it.

You can find teachers on youtube that are genuinely 50x better than your run-of-the-mill teacher and the comments are full of shit like "wow I learned more here than I did in 2 years of school."

Government bullies teachers, kids bully teachers, parents bully teachers, other teachers bully teachers, redditors bully teachers. Is teacher like a jannie who gets paid or something?

State funded child bullying as a job sounds fun.

my job is so important and if you disagree then do not post here. Think about others who want to be teachers. You'll ruin it by brapping really hard in our echo chamber.

Just reflects the average Reddit age tbh. A lot of the kids posting here come from privilege and can’t imagine any other way.

The poster clearly needs mental guidance. So do most of the people here.
