AverageBen10Enjoyer's Saddest Subreddit of the Week: /r/Costco

As requested by @Wieoaka, /r/Costco is a sad subreddit. Everyone in it is a self-professed fan of Costco, either posting Costco memes or showing off their 5 litre tubs of mayo.

https://old.reddit.com/r/Costco/top/?sort=top&t=all contains the same generic barely-linked-to-the-subreddit current affairs stuff that you see at the top of every subreddit. You can trace modern American history through /r/Costco's top all time posts:

  • Celebrations about people being unable to return hoarded potty paper,

  • complaints about people not wearing masks 18 months into the coof,

  • "The morning after pill is $6 at costco pharmacy".

Here are some good posts that are a bit less topical:

Our Costco Baby Announcement! First pic was our announcement. Second pic was how I initially told my husband that we were expecting!

We decided to wear our Kirkland hoodies today and the manager loved our outfits so much we got name tags!

Some people REALLY like Costco.

The other commenters make me want to delete my Reddit account:

WHOA! HOL’ UP!!!

Are those embroidered? Darn might have to get one.

2020 just got a little bit better, thanks for uploading this pic. I am waiting on 4 to be delivered, 3 of which will be christmas gifts for my wolf pack, the 3 best friends that anyone could have.

We got the idea from the Reddit. Brought our own onions to the food court.

Can't handle Super Bowl crowds (February 2021)

In which a Costco employee is angry that people are buying food to eat at home a year after the Coof.

We are in a pandemic, and Costco hasn't been regulating foot traffic in the store. We've had door counts yesterday over 500 people entering the store every 30 minutes. Whole families shopping together at once.

And they all are buying full carts of party supplies. Pork shoulders, multiple packs of drumsticks, carts full of beer and wine.

The denial is unreal. The apathy is ridiculous. This whole situation has restructured my views on people.

I work for Costco, and now I know for the first time that the majority of the people around me just do not care about my well-being.

I hate my country. I hate my state. I hate the ignorance of our members.

Enjoy your fricking parties

To whoever the sad troll is that just downvotes every single post, I will be making a point to offset your negativity from now on.

Old man shouts at cloud:

Not that karma means anything, but it just bugs me. I just sorted this sub by new, and basically all the new posts that hadn't been upvoted had a score of 0. Because the troll always downvotes.

Be better.

Oh and the memes are even worse than /r/IKEA's:

I was curious and checked out /r/Samsclub to see if it was just a :chudsey: version of /r/Costco (at least 1 church post I didn't read). Found this zoomer who couldn't last a full month at sam's

All the retail subreddits are worth reading and sorting by controversial. RIP /r/shoplifting.
