There was a "household tips" post a while back that was full of drama because everyone thinks they know how to cook.

Is it really, though? And I'm not even talking about the occasional fun post unrelated tot he site, I'm talking about the users here who make an average of ten threads a day, none of them drama, most of which get zero comments

The people who post like that occasionally get a hit too, so it's not really lack of quality so much as not knowing what is gonna work.
