You need to start recognising the differnce by a bunch of media companies staffed by a small middle class elite that are all old uni buddies pushing an agenda and calming to speak on the behalf of society, and actual public consensus.
A casual look at something like rotten tomatoes which despite open interference from the moderation team can't bridge the gulf between their hand picked 'professional critics' and the audience scores tells you everything you need to know about what websites pundits tell you about 'what everyone is saying'.

Oh, and how does this 'everyone' know that? I must of slept through RT coming out and presenting that data. The only people making that claim are butt frustrated Hollywood types and considering that it goes hand in hand with saying that their film isn't shit, its the fanbase that has shit taste, I don't put much stock in it.
Also if that is the case then why is it that when RT comes in to 'correct' the audience score it rarely gets over 40%. They get money and access in exchange for making things look good and with the unlimited remit of 'removing evil trolls' to prune away negativity and the most glowing endorsement they can find is 'It wasn't total shit' is not a good look.
