It's weird seeing the republicans no longer solely being the party of big business as we've seen since the rise of trump. I'd say it was caused by the Tea Party movement of the early 2010's and the implosion of neocon politics. The old school libertarian republican types are dying off and replaced with something that is unironically bad for our country, and it seems like Ron DeSantis will be a continuation of that. Honestly, I can see the GOP going full nazbol in the near future just because of contrarianism against the Democratic neoliberal socially liberal fiscally conservative outlook. I want to hear what you "intellectuals" think as we slowly see the pendulum swinging towards the Democratic party as the party of big business.

I think it is simply a reaction to what is happening to the democrats. Education and white collar workers have been moving left and the left continues to push social norms. It makes sense then to take advantage of backlash to leftist social policy and cast aside a base that was on the way out anyway.
