Question about hood exits?
I know nothing about cars and i honestly don’t know where else to find information on this so please bear with me lol, my child’s father has been adding mods to his car and i need to know about this specific mod. Hes decided to straight pipe his car a while ago to make it loud, he has a 2021 VW GTI. recently he decided to cut a hole in his hood and add a hood exit, all you can smell is his exhaust fumes. my dads a mechanic and explained a little bit to me that with everything he’s done to his car the fumes are now going into his car through the ac vents as well as through the windows because his ac no longer works. i was wondering if anyone could better explain how this works as well as what you would be breathing in while sitting in the car. my dad has said something about carbon monoxide getting into the car and i really need to know this information because i don’t want my 8 month old baby breathing this stuff in. thank you all for the help in advance
