Weekly Anime Post 78

Oh man I remember watching Ergo Proxy. What a weird series, although it probably didn't help that I was getting in from work late and watching 3 episodes at 1am until I fell asleep.

This week I watched Attack on Titan Final I really mean it this time part 1/47 which was good, but at this point it does feel like they're really dragging it out compared to the packed nature of previous seasons.

I didn't expect to be enjoying Trigun as much as I am tbh. I Was a bit put off by the 3d animation and the different way it told its story, but it's really grown on me and while it's not going to beat the first series, it's definitely another solid show by Orange and probably easier to get into than the first series which takes like 6 episodes to even get going. I do miss Milly even if she doesn't have much of a role in the other series.

Just rewatched a bunch of old Kenshin TV episodes as well as the 2012-2014 Kenshin live action movies after finding out they made 2 new live action ones that came out in 2021 that I've just finally watched today. Holy shit these are fricking good. The acting is flawless and the fight choreography is on point with stuff like The Raid and Ip man

I watched Ben-to this week, which is one of the worst shows ive watched recently. Honestly, I dont even know how this shit did not get axed after the 5th manga chapter, let alone get an anime. It wasnt even that interesting to hate watch, idk how the people who paid for this were, but evidently significantly more than me. Would not recommend

If anyone watched the show, was there anything cringe worthy worth watching? I assumed it will have a very strong "Fellows weebs" vibe, especially with the streamers guests.

Other than that I've mostly been watching the Lima Major and ing that my dota is not dead. Though a thread on /a/ inspired me to restart reading Chained Soldier. I originally read it about 3 years ago when there was only ~30-40 chapters and havent read since, but it was a blast when I first read it. As long as it doesnt do an akakill, it might end up being one of my favourite recent mangos/anime.

I've only read a couple of volumes of The Ravages of Time and like I already said in last week's iteration of this thread, this manhwa is beyond great. One thing a lot of people seem to love is the introduction of characters (commonly refered to as entrances) and I'll show you how Guo Jia and Zhao Yun are officially introduced:

Just finished this season of Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun. I'm really hoping it gets another season (they teased it pretty hard at the end), it's consistently been one of my favorite shows.

Haven't watched anything this week cause I'm not a weeb, but I decided to myself that I will give the classics like Berserk, GitS and Akira a try sometime

If 100 GFs gets its rumored adaptation soon it'll be the first anime I've seen in years.

You know what. I'm gonna say it, that's right. I liked Netflix Record of Ragnarok adaption. Yeah I said it. I think it's perfectly fine. I think the direction is good and I think the music is good too. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel emotional at multiple points, especially in the final episode when when the fat sumo wrestlers send of Raiden. Is it getting hard carried by the source material? Sure, maybe so, but I don't care. There it is, frick the haters.

Watching Psycho Pass with some friends. For a "Brutal" anime its kind eh about that, like I expected some Zeta Gundam or Victory Gundam level killing off of named characters. Its killed some characters who have been named like once before their death.

jjk is the only good shonen running, jojolands opening was interesting.

Watched the final episodes of AoT because I somehow lost track of them when they split the final season. Despite what ret/a/rds say, I still find it to be a great show.

Finished watching Lupin's movies minus that one with Detective Connan because I'm not intersted. Some great, some OK, one bad.

Started watching Garden of Sinners (still undecided, feels like 6/10, my dislike for ufotable's style biases me). All in all, I left my laptop at the office and didn't work for close to 10 days, reading books by day, watching animu at night. A comfy faux NEET life.

I got a physical copy of Villains Are Destined to Die last weekend. It was expensive but it was colored so that makes up for it. I hope one day they do Chitra too. I also started reading this romance manga about these two teenagers who go to schools that hate each other. It’s a bit stereotypical but it’s sweet enough that I enjoy it.

Nier and Vinland peak as always. The NieR anime especially suprises me with the amount of original content, this week was what i hoped to see in anime which is a very major event that is only mentioned in the game

I've failed as a weeb lately All I've done in the past month or so is keep up with Oshi no Ko (which has been super uneven lately, what is Aka doing) and Boy's Abyss, and download things and not read them

I might re-read Apothecary Diaries today though, I find it very relaxing

I have been watching Mahoutsukai no Yome, currently at episode 21. I am starting to think it may have been written for foids.
