Not much on my part as I'm still reading The Ravages of Time. One thing that isn't spoken enough when it comes to this comic is the concept of deception. Sure, we all know works that have le token genius character who has a plan for everything and surely doesn't rely on unlogical circumstances to win. Ravages has that too, but at least it's somewhat believable. I'm talking about common tricks aimed to deceive the enemy. A good example is how Lü Bu is praised as the god of war and thus feared by warlords, generals and soldiers alike. Soldiers, which to be fair were mostly peasants at the time anyway, tremble at the sheer sight of him and are afraid of his martial prowess and therefore are simply incapable of any action. While the romance and its many adaptions exaggerate this to an insanely stupid level, I quite like how the comic applies this to concepts such as morale or fortitude of troops. Now, think about it. What would happen if you heard you were going up against this unbeatable men and his strong army? You'd be scared shitless but lucky for you, he can only be at one place at a time. Can he though? How would you even recognize a man you have never met, never heard or never even seen just by rumors alone? Especially on the battlefield? You wouldn't. Ravages has some grand moments applying this concept such as 8 different Lü Bus defending a city. It's also brilliantly done with characters supposedly dying only to miraculously come back alive.

tl:dr

Bocchi is really cute and feelgood. I still prefer Watamote for the pure horrible realism and awkwardness but Bocchi is better for your health.

Jump in the discussion.

Both of those shows aren't realistic. Both bocchi and Tomoko would be orbited by simps irl

I didnt finish watamote cause it got to cringe at some point. Or mostly because it was boring and I just didnt feel like watching on tbh.

The Angel Next Door is pretty good imo, as far as romcoms can be good.

Also anime is gay.

Finished Billy Bat. Wild book. The first ~20 chapters were too fast and felt disjointed, but by the time you hit the ninja arc, I felt like it had come into its own. I loved all the random shit cramed in, although pretty much everyone surviving until the end was meh. Devive was essily my favorite character and one of the few that felt like he really developed and grew. My man died a hero.

The suicide? demon in Chainsaw Man 2 will hopefully be cool once stuff happens.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I hope it isn't the suicide devil. Who tf is scared of suicide besides twitteroids explaining why they can't own a gun? I hope it's the intrusive thoughts devil but it's probably the death devil cuz horsemen theme. Though I don't know how much higher you can go than death, seems like the end game boss tbh.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I thought the horsemen were distinct from the primordial fears. Also all the other 3 known horsemen (Fami, Makima, Asa) have pretty human forms, while the other primordial devil (darkness) looks more monstrous.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Well there has to be a horseman of death. If that's the same as the death devil idk, but Fujimoto seems fine inventing rules and lore on the fly so who knows.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I would assume it would be, I just don't think the devil in the last panel is death

is the ending good? normally that dudes manga are like 70% great before he fluffs the ending, literally manga stephen king.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

It isn't bad. There's like 3 endings, sort of. The first is probably in the middle, explains there are three bats, tells the artists to draw. Sort of an end to the main story. The second is more of an epilogue, just wrapping up where characters went after the story. I wasn't too much a fan of this compared to the other parts, but it wasn't bad. Third is a flash forward to the "end of the world" as predicted by the comics with two soldiers in a wasteland. That ends with a ray of hope and it was my favorite and felt the most thematically consistent.

I stayed up until like 3:30 last night reading 20th Century Boys. I haven’t read a manga this compelling in quite a while.

I briefly considered watching the Aqours live show after but I think I’d be up until like 6 AM so I’m gonna watch it tonight on the TV. They’re doing a similar all group set list but the solos are the 2nd and 3rd ones which is great! Kinda sad An-Chan isn’t gonna do お変わり Happy Life but she put on a heck of a show during the Valentines show so I’m sure this will be great too. Also finally get to see Akorega ran ran ran live! Love that song.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I dropped that shit like 15 chapters in. Didn't feel like there was any mystery at all.

I fell of Aqours years ago, but it makes me happy they're still going. Furirin will always be my first oshi :marseykneel:

Blue Lock is so fricking good bros. Every week is a banger.

Last VS episode adapted one of the best manga chapters of all time, and it was pure kino

Isekai Ojisan finally aired its last episode. Haven't watched it yet but that show is my guilty pleasure and an alright comedy

That AoT episode/special was hype I guess, but it kinda came out of nowhere and no one talked about it?? Plus the next part is like 8 months away? Stupid release strategy

Need to catch up on Nier & In/Spectre

Tokyo Revengers is unbelievably r-slurred now. The main character's super power is literally being a crybaby b-word gigasimp. The Baji-kun arc last season was kino. The show suffers without him, Mikey, or Draken being central to the plot

The Nier anime is pretty mid. They added a bunch of new characters to make the story fit into an anime, but it's honestly impossible to do, so theyre trying their best.

Outside of the usual (Vinland, nier which are still going strong) I started Bungou Stray Dogs or something like that. Seems decent and with somewhat original setting but not really phenomenal or ground breaking so far (though I heard it becomes truly good in season 2)

Slowly dredged my way through spy x family this week. I dont get how it got so popular.

Thankfully anons finally finished:

>[Isekai] Futoku no Guild (Immoral Guild) (Full Batch) (BD 1080p FLAC) (Director's Cut Extended Edition)

so I will have something good to watch next.

Jump in the discussion.

If you go into spy x family with the expectation of it being a pretty decent show all around, then it's pretty good imo. It's way overhyped though.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

I only read the manga, but SxF's start was really strong. It got boring fast tho and I quickly forgot to read it.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Spy x family is a show that has interesting premise at first but then it just gets into a loop of the same repetitive jokes all the time with no real progression. It starts originally but then it just stays the same

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

jokes were a miss for me from the start. Most of them felt incredibly forced and out of place, not to mention the whole "shock" sound being played like a laugh track trying to tell you that you have to laugh now.

All it did was make me appreciate TEIS's humour much more.

watched Neo Ranga, show that got bad reviews because it was marketed as an action show when really it is a slice of life. a monster called ranga follows 3 girls from bali to japan, people aren't happy that its smashing up the place, then the military comes and smashes up the place even more, the people take ranga's side and declare their part of town independent from japan and an extension of bali, lots of brown people move in.

then a bunch of pagans take over the government, who try to get rid of filthy western influences by putting pagan symbolism in all media and advertisements, starting hitler youth clubs, getting everyone mad at all the brown people living in rangatown and trying to get rid of christianity by banning christmas and making people worship trees.

it does have some good action, but only towards the end of the show.

also this (below) was made by the director of serial experiments lain, though lain was merely a watered down version made for the plebs. this is true kino.

Just finished Call of The Night, didn't expect much, and it turns out it was pretty good, really hoping for s2. That being said, the age difference between Yamori and Nazuna is a bit... to use zoomerspeak: sus.

The same week I finished part 6 of JoJo. Not my favourite part, but definitively doesn't deserve its bad rep.

Right now I'm deciding what to watch next. I plan to finish Edgerunners. After watching ep. 6 I took a breather, and I should probably jump back in now, before I start to forget things.

Highly recommend it btw.

Jump in the discussion.

Call of the Night is phenomenal. They should have enough material for a second season, each volume was about two episodes long.

I'm just hoping there will be a S2, and that it will keep the quality of S1.

You never know what decisions Anime production comities decide to make.
