Frieren might be my favorite anime this year. Its truly really unique and just keeps getting better

Other than that im rewatching psycho pass. First season slays hard, 2nd is only ok, i didnt watch any of the movies past that yet

Finished Outlaw Star. Mid, very 90s. Would've been more enjoyable if they'd done spaceship fights that weren't actual melee brawling.

Watching:

  • Kingdoms of Ruin. Oh god its so bad I can't stop watching. It's like KageJitsu with no self awareness, just more edge.

  • My Daughter Flew The Nest. Comfy.

  • MF Ghost. I hope something interesting happens soon. Initial D it is not.

  • Saint's Magic season 2. Comfy, but slower than last season (understandably).

  • Helck. It's been like 6 episodes of filler flashbacks, and we aren't even done. 2 cours was too long.

  • Ragna Crimson. Boy we're getting a lot of 90s anime this season. Mid so far.

  • Spy x Family season 2. Comfy, but a bit filler-heavy so far.

  • Shield Hero S2. Not even mid right now.

  • Shangri-la Frontier. This season's sleeper for me, I'm enjoying it.

  • Angel Links. It's more Outlaw Star. Nice launch sequence, you can tell they worked really hard on it because they put it in every single episode.

I wish Shield Hero gave us a longer fight with Sadeena and Murder Pierrot, and set Fohl up to be more useful than he seems, but otherwise I am happy with it this season.

Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki is comfy. I do find it weird they tried to have characters give him shit for weird skills. Maybe that's just a Japanese thing, but in all my years of MMO the guy who sits in town making potions for his guild was normal.

Anyone in House Vampire should be watching Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon.

Alright, quick review of last season since I'm about to go to bed:

Good Isekai:

  • Reborn as a Vending Machine. Actually good. He stays limited by the constraints of being a machine and has too work around not being able to communicate clearly. Also both of the skeleton bosses looked cool as frick and I say that as someone who don't usually care for edgy skellies.

Comfy Isekai:

  • Am I really the strongest. Instead of taking the opportunity to turn his life around he commits to NEETmaxxing :marseyneet:

  • My unique skill make me OP even at Level 1. Lol'd every time he used the gun to heal someone.

Mid Isekai:

  • The Great Cleric. This had potential but was dragged down by Japanese humor and a slow start.

Bad Isekai:

  • Mushoku Tensai. Academy grooming arc is beloved by reddit for some reason:marseythinkorino:

Sweet reincarnation. This could have been good by the there were too many moments of complete stupidity. Oh and some cringe relationship drama. Droppedmiddle of ep 10

Mid anime:

  • Undead Girl Murder Farce went full undead monster murder fest at the end, lowering the score.

  • Reign of the Seven spellblades. So imagine harry potter but everyone is a psycho, and it's not written by a trainsphobe but a trainlover. oh and also make every plot involve something weirdly sexual. Honestly, probably more bad than mid.

Bad anime:

  • JJK. Mappa shonen, what more do I have to say. Dropped after ep 32

A friend wants me to watch season 2 and is nagging me but tbh I domt really wanna watch it, Im not really into shonen shit. I watched season 1 for him and it was ok, what makes season 2 bad?

Season 2 is better than season 1, but in the end its still a shonen, so most of the show consists of

-mid story,

-2 dimensional characters,

-great and well animated fights,

-overexplaining shit,

-interesting/unique abilities,

-most of the "hype" scenes just being [X character got mad and became OP]

As for JJK it's basically the epitome of shonen shit. And S2 is just more of the same. It's kinda funny because S1 was the 2nd anime I ever watched so you'd think there would be some nostalgia for the series but no.
