Weekly Anime post 137

Due to popular demand from the rdrama.net community, this anime post comes a little bit sooner. This is clear proof that I am in fact NOT lazy.

Anyway, first I finished fruit of evolution season 2, it was mid at best. While the first season felt like it tried to be like konosuba, a isekai comedy, in this season they did a shitton of unironic drama, except you didnt care for most of the characters. It was really weird. And then in the end they tied the season up with one big comedy moment, except it wasnt really that funny, though the idea of basically invalidating a whole season worth of 'drama' and just bringing everyone back to life is kinda funny, just not the execution. But the didnt really commit to that comedy 'subversion' (idk if thats really the right word) either, they still wanted to keep some of the """drama"'"". Overall I wouldnt really recommend.

After that I watched '7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!', which I though would be another attempt to copy the success of my next life as a villaness, but I was positively surprised as the title is literally just bait, at no point in the story is the heroine ever a villainess lmao. Its basically just a romance show with a smart heroine because she has experience from her past six lives. Idk if its based on a shojo manga, all the men around the girl are very pretty (she is too), but it might have just been the general artstyle, which was also very pretty imo. Overall a very good anime I think, Im hoping for a season 2. The whole dynamic between male and female lead was very nice.

After that I was left in a bit of a hole, I wanted more of that but couldnt find anything, so I then settled for just some plain romance: 'The Dangers In My Heart'. The first three episodes were kinda cringe and I considered quitting, but it got a lot better after that. Im gonna finish the last three episodes of season two today, overall a solid romance anime. Id watch another season too if they make one, though so far it seems like they will finally become a couple by the end of the season so idk if there will be another one of them actually being together.

I also watched a few episodes of 'Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!', its not especially bad, but not especially good either. Just a generic romance/harem show I guess, idk if Ill keep watching.

Thats it for the week. I hope this wall of text proves to everyone that I am in fact not lazy and that animeposts still have sovl etc etc.

Started on black clover since it came out on Netflix, not really enjoying it, feels way too Naruto and not in a good way. Only on episode 8 but idk if I'm gonna continue

Excellent taste with Dangers of My Heart. Legit peak, one of the best anime I've ever seen.

  • Started watching Bartender: Kami no Glass which I have no expectations for, so we'll see how it develops.

  • Watched episode 1 of Highspeed Etoile which was... not good. I've gotten more sense of speed from a book than I did from the racing in the show. It has one more episode to redeem itself but I see it going the way of Metallic Rouge

  • Started the reboot of Spice and Wolf. I'd have preferred a continuation of the previous series, but this looks promising and if it's a more complete adaptation I'll be happy.

  • Started Yuruâ–łCamp season 3. The animation is definitely a slight downgrade, but it doesn't ruin it; it's still plenty watchable, and the "Konichiwa" is as adorable as ever. Looking forward to more comfy this season

  • Finished S2 of Mob Psycho 100 which was excellent. Genuinely amazing animation, really good characters, 10/10 show, looking forward to going through S3

Maybe tone your expectations for Mob s3 down a bit. :marseycringe2: It still has a few really great episodes though.

Having finished S3 I think it ended really well. I really liked what they did with each character, it fits them.

Patlabor was dubs only on my streaming service so I watched genocyber instead.

It's from the mid 90s but seems much older, very 80s stylistically. Super low budget, the story is only kind of a loose narrative in 2 episode arcs with each one basically being a kind of alternate storyline.

The art is really good, unlike anything I've seen before. Lots of photography and charcoal sketch and the fights are incredibly gruesome. It's only 5 eps and worth watching.

Binge watching Dirty Pair and it's excellent. Each episode is self contained, the art never once declines in quality and it's a really comfy sci fi.

I've been watching welcome to the NHK for the past week and am now on episode 20 so I'm almost done with that. Very good show, I sympathize with MC a lot (hes useless and I'm useless). Its definitely one of my favorite anime of all time and is actually surprisingly similar to steins;gate in terms of the MC. I tried to watch the show some time in the past, but got filtered when it turned out there wasn't a conspiracy and the dude actually was just neurodivergent. Coming back to it now, I can appreciate his schizophrenia a lot more especially because I also experience a lot of the same symptoms. !anime !steiners welcome to the NHK is top tier and is a must watch if you haven't already. Watched Frieren. I liked it enough overall, but I wish it didn't degenerate into a stereotypical shonen anime. The exam arc and all of the characters introduced there was just awful

I watched a few episodes of Invincible. The English VAs are pretty good, but the animation is terrible.

I really wish the Japanese would stop doing this 8 fps animation crap.

Decided to rewatch Tenchi Muyo since I haven't seen that since like high school. Despite being basically the first harem show it holds up well.

Managed to talk a friend into watching the UC Gundam. :#marseygundamtitans: So, I've been watching the side stories with him. War in the Pocket is great, its not as good as 08th. I like that it only has 6 episodes, it tells its story without dragging, and gives the plot a sense of urgency. I wish we'd get more side story OVAs.

I saw Suzume, which was cool because I like fantasy stuff (it's not the D&D kind of fantasy). Overall, 7.5/10? It wasn't anything special or unique, but I was :marseysatisfied:. The animation is really good too, so is the character design, so maybe I'd give it a 7.8. Definitely not 8 outta 10 material because story is a bit weak, so don't ask hard questions; just sit back and enjoy. :marcusbeachtowel:

I'd expect it to be a pioneer of new R34 nonsense (you'll know it when you see it). (And no, I didn't bother looking because I have standards :!marseyindignant:).

!anime :marseysoypoint: I took a break from anime and wrote a review for an animoovie! :marseysoyhype:

@TheRealChapose, you'd probably like this because you're gay for romance stories.
