There's one I saw where a guy gets bullied then finds a magic sword that instantly turns him into basically the villain from the first hulk movie and he's an unstoppable invincible muscle juggernaut and just spends 100 chapters slaughtering anyone he wants and raping people while they cry and beg for mercy. Kind of fricked

I remember seeing one that was literally a Western except America is colonized by the Chinese in the 13th century. Was absolutely fricking hilarious, even included a classic showdown except instead of unholstering a revolver it was unsheathing swords. I don't think it was supposed to be funny though.

Western media dose that too. Especially videogames. Mass murdere becomes your best friend at drop of hat. In general, modern entertaiment media dosent give life enough gravity. Except main cast. They cant die becouse it would make people sad

Literally every Chinese story (korea is just shit china so it's included) is "oh herro I am weakest person and everyone burry me sad face but secretry I have secret power rat make me strongest and now I burry everyone erse yay"

It's never the western conception of "I should dismantle the unfair system that oppressed me" it's always "I'll have my turn at the top, sucks to be everyone else".

You also see this with Indians when they flood into western countries, they immediately start talking about how they're going to take revenge for historical slights rather than how much better their life is now.

Yeah I noticed something like that too, I've read a few manhua and in several there is this one plot (because a lot of them copy each other's plots) where basically it goes like:

1. Earth is going to be doomed in some way

2. Character goes back in time

3. Character has some knowledge from the future that will allow them to get strong faster to prepare for the doom

That method can be unusual tech, knowledge of future forms of magic, or something like a cultivation technique that levels you up super fast.

They NEVER do the obvious solution of sharing this knowledge so that the population of earth can become strong and overcome the doom. They always keep it to themselves so they can be treated like golden gods and shit on the filthy peasants who beg them to save them. It's extremely weird because the plot will insist this is all necessary to save the world, but the characters are deliberately endangering the world to get kitty and the story won't call them out for it

Similar thing in Chinese stories, random people tend to die by the dozens when two important characters fight.

What i have recently noticed is how lives of little people dont ammount shit in korean stories.

It's not just the stories. Check the Miryang gang r*pe incident, for example. Girls systematically being gangraped in school by dozens of boys from prominent families, and it was filmed. The police subsequently harassed the families of the girls for reporting it and demanding the boys be tried and punished. It isn't odd when you realize it is the ever-present reality of Korean society. Goryeo had the longest unbroken legal tradition of slavery in history. Everything blacks accuse white people of doing, creating a giant society wide system to continually keep them down? Actually true for Korea's former slave classes. If you don't come from a prominent family then your son will be extorted on a daily basis and your daughter will be gang r*ped. It is no wonder that South Korea has the world's lowest fertility rate. Why would you want to have children that are going to be r*ped and extorted?

They have to be, they are courting death 24/7.
