This shit was never gonna be good, DMC was never about telling a yappy butt story. Its about a guy in a red leather jacket just absolutely spazzing the frick out on various demons, trying his hardest never to do the same attack twice in a row, aka the type of action that all anime studios collectively gave up on depicting back in like 2005.

seriously a show about one of the most over the top combo driven action games, and NETFLIX ANIME TEAM is gonna make it? bro their castlevania show had like 1 decent action scene per SEASON, this shit is gonna be insanely fricking wack.

I'm sure Dante will feel very strongly about [social issue framed through current prevailing sociological lense] and that the demons will be [caricatured stand-ins for the writers ideological opponents] and if we're lucky, we'll even get Dante sidelined by [new self-insert / existing race-swapped character who is a woman or genderqueer] who will educated and cleanse Dante of his sins [toxic masculinity and competance as a character].

It's the Castlevania approach where people with derision for the source material decide they can do it better resulting in the audience jerking themselves off while claiming that they are the true fans and that the source material was always problematic and gross.
