"The 'Dream' of VTubers Vox Akuma [NijisanjiEN] to address rabid fan behavior (attacking coworkers with death threats for daring to message during a ASMR date)

Vox Akuma is a popular male vtuber in Nijisanji who is notorious for having the worst fanbase of all the NijiEN livers. A significant portion of his fanbase consists of Chinese fujoshi (delusional female nerds) that call him milord and attack any uterus-haver they see as a potential threat to his virginity. Vox encourages parasocial relationships with his fans, pretending to go on 'dates' with them in ASMR stream, not dissimilar to minecraft youtuber Dream. This is not really unusual in the vtuber space but Chinese netizens tend to be particularly aggressive possibly due to a lack of actual consequences and language barrier.

In a ASMR stream where Vox went on a 'date' with fans, his female coworker and vtuber Reimu Endou messaged him. He quickly responded and went back on topic, but this was enough to set off his fans, who were enraged that their virtual boyfriend was texting another woman during a date. Reimu had already been a target for being close to Vox and making statements that could be construed as flirting, so she was already getting death threats on twitter under every post but this incident pushed Vox fans over the edge.

In a recent Minecraft stream, Vox took ten minutes to address his fans unacceptable behavior, but also downplayed the harassment and claimed that he shouldn't be micromanaged and told what to do when his fanbase attacks someone which brought universal condemnation from the rest of NijisanjiEN's fanbase who were already sick of Vox fans antics and his refusal to do anything about it. A hashtag on twitter #ReimuIsBestGirl trended full of support for Reimu Endou and anger against fujoshis.
