To shed some light —

Hamas is listed by the US Department of State, pursuant to law, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, an FTO.

Under US law, providing "material aid" to an FTO — outside of providing medical aid and religious literature as the sole exceptions — is a crime.

There is an argument that knowingly providing any services that aid & abet or promote an FTO — including any rhetoric conveyed across a user content hosting internet service provider — is a violation of that law.

And, finally, there is a difference between Palestinians / the Palestinian people vs Hamas.

To paraphrase dril in 2017, you do not, under any circumstances, gotta hand it to them.

Any statement that can be decomposed in part to "the actions of Hamas were necessary / justified" — regardless of the cosmic truth of the matter — are reasonably knowable to be a violation of US law, and therefore of the Reddit User Agreement, and probably r|worldnews' sub rules.
