Why can't the press ever use the word "racist"? Why must it always be "racial" and "racialist"?

They're racists. They committed a racist hate crime. They're racist criminals.

Just use the right word

Hey, guys, just so you know: Reddit is very keen on Sitewide Rule 1, which forbids promoting hatred.

Please don't post photos or screenshot of hate speech on Reddit without flagging it NSFW & preferably spoiler-tagging it & where available, content warning flairs.

IIRC there's a distinctive removal interstitial on the item itself,

[Removed by Reddit pursuant to a copyright notice]

Or a message to that effect.

Right.

Just β€” in general, volunteer moderators can't / shouldn't / mustn't try to intervene in DMCA takedowns unless they're a named party.

I would advise against that, unless on the advice of the person's attorney.

Reports are communications to Reddit which assert a good faith belief that something is a violation of / abuse of the acceptable use policies or applicable law, etc.

If a court decides that anyone who reported it as report abuse has made an allegation based in knowledge material to the ensuing lawsuit β€”

There's a reason it's a safe harbour for those operating as UCHISPs. Not my circus; not my monkeys

Well, here's the thing:

The DMCA takedown system is designed to streamline a legal process, and to make it so that no third parties are intervening in that process.

DMCA takedowns are legal filings that claim copyright. They are the first step in a lawsuit. They are a way for the UCHISP (User Content Hosting Internet Service Provider) to exempt itself from being involved in that lawsuit.

When someone is filing a DMCA takedown against content in your community, unless they file it against you,

you should avoid inserting yourself into the issue.

Your role as a moderator is to identify patterns of blatant copyright violations and take reasonable action to prevent those.

But as far as the DMCA takedowns go, you shouldn't try to intervene.

If the DMCA takedown was sent to you, you need to talk to your attorney

It's not about finance. It's about social control.

The same groups that were / are running the anti-pornography crusades targeting Reddit,

Were / are the same groups that, starting in about 2016, got funding from groups like The Heritage Foundation & Focus on the Family to attack transgender people politically.

Because, for them to manipulate the public into voting them into power, there has to be a scapegoat group or topic to exploit for Sexual Anxiety.

If you have a boogeyman, a Persecutor of Women and Kids (currently, whether it's The Transes or The Porn), whom only The Rescuer can save the Victims from, then (by the calculus of fascist power politics) The People will clamour for the Rescuer to have Power.

They have no actual modern governmental policies, only a desire to impose their religion on everyone else by persecuting transgender people, adults who make erotica, women who have s*x, etc etc etc.

I am certain you do not wish to argue that several years ago you assaulted me at Tanglewood Forest. Several of your fellow company members have chased me and thwapped me with Amtgard -legal boffer weapons on Company Road while I was making announcements on behalf of Kingdom Officers.
