I like the ideal promise of forums like Reddit.

I feel that Reddit itself should have been either destroyed or compelled to reform by law, 15 years ago.

And I have 50,000 + reasons for that

Today's reason is an 11-year-old Reddit account, where the username — readable by 13-17 year old kids — graphically described the operator performing a s*x act in a way that violated boundaries and consent.

The entire comment history I loaded, 1000 items, was all hostile sneering / harassment.

Reddit provides NO MECHANISMS to report user profiles.

But the community has borne the weight of this for reddit's entire existence.

UCHISPs are still engineered and operated in ways that enable hatred, harassment, and violent threats to be enacted across them, with the userbase bearing the burden of countering & preventing it, with a few barebones cowtools.
