One of the things I did in researching How To Get Reddit To Take Responsibility For Extremists On Platform was to research how the Reddit TOS changed over time.
When it was still directly owned by Wired / Conde Nast, the TOS explicitly banned all obscenity.
Which, of course, meant nothing.

I just ran across this thread; I used to moderate and post on /r/beholdthemasterrace, which was photos of Nazis we made fun of because they're gross. Reddit permanently banned me for harassment of said Nazis. I mean they had swastika face tattoos.

Sounds like 2017-2019 Reddit admin behaviour. They perma'd many of my friends / colleagues / good people in those two years for writing "Frick TERFs" comments.
It contributed significantly to me being on the brink of saying "Reddit can't be helped".

Ugh, by 2021 they should have not fallen for bad faith claims of discrimination. But they still did. One of the mods we had come in to AHS made a throwaway account because the admins fall for false reports. Her throwaway got dinged twice in 2 years. Once for reporting on neonazis in /r/tucker_carlson

His job scope is not at the level of AUP enforcement & since the changes in the wake of the edit incident & the IPO, he's pointedly not allowed to take action at that level.
He is limited to CEO scope, now. He just wasn't a good CEO before.

The db edit incidents were the end of the line for him running the corporation like a frat party, and treating CEO like membership in the SV elite, because the board made him get sober.
