Zoomers (and even some young Millennials) in the workforce don't know what it means to be professional. The workplace is just an extended social space that they get paid to be at.

The amount of side-eyeing I do when overhearing actual spoken conversation among my younger coworkers is absurd. It genuinely makes me wish for HR presence.

I don't want to hear about Jan getting railed over the weekend, or Scott's schizo takes on the government or politics. But somehow this is a normal occurrence that takes up easily an hour a day, and even management gets in on it sometimes.

One coworker used Teams of all things to do some major shit-talking about our boss a while back. I just said "this is company software, the walls have ears".

Yes, and these policies are rooted in transmisia and must be abolished.
