Department of State already did this since the late 1950's. We have a whole department for it, called the Central Intelligence Agency, powered by another department, the National Security Agency.
The difference now is they'll do it to Americans who don't kowtow, too

The idea is that our government should be responsible - if someone makes a decision affecting you, they sign off on it and they will be held accountable for "getting it right."
But they don't believe in accountability, and with AI, there is no one responsible for what is done.
