Partition was a good thing. The only mistake was not exchanging all muzzies. Of course, logistics makes complete transfer near impossible but hey any significant reduction would've been for the best.

Nah the impulse was there. Bengal province was partitioned as far back as 1905 out of that impulse. Only muzzie mass movement prior to partition chimpouts was to restore the Ottoman caliph after WW1. They always were biding their time, which is why Congress was so desperate to onboard them that they supported the khilafat chimpouts(which turned into jihad against Hindus in one state but we don't talk about that).
